Hi ppl! This is my page where you can learn step-by-step how to make your on header!
Ok let’s get started!
- Getting a header making program There are a lot of free header programs you can get, but the one I use is Paint.net. Paint.net is free and you can google it and install it to your computer for free. (ASK YOUR MOM AND DAD FIRST!)
- Once you’ve got your header program, open it up. If you are using Paint.net it should look like this.

Next you need to figure out the size of the header you need to make. this is easy. Go to your blog’s dashboard and go to Design. Then go to Custom Image header. Under the picture of your header that you have right now there should be some bold numbers that say something like 760×190 pixels. Go back to paint and click File then click New. It should look like this-
In the first box enter the first bold number, example- 760, in the next box enter the second number, example- 190. Then hit ok. It should bring up a new box to fit your blog’s header space. - Next it’s finally time to make your header! Go to google and search up anything that you want to put on your header. If you find and image you want, Copy it. (Press right key on mouse and select copy, or press Ctrl and c keys on your keyboard) If the image has a white backround around it like this,

Don’t panic! You can easily get rid of that. Open a new box again and paste (Right click and select paste or ctrl and v keys on your keyboard) then use the WAND TOOL (far left of your panit.net screen)
and set the tolarance (Upper left-middle of paint.net screen) to 25%.
Then click anywhere in the white backround and there should be moving lines around it.
Next go to Edit and click Invert selection
Your picture without the white backround should be highlighted. Copy it. then go back to your header and paste it. TADA! No white backround.
- Put words on your header and accesories. When your ready to save it, go to Save and save as and save it as a png or jpg file. Then go to your dashboard and upload it. TADA! You have a header!
Paint.net doesn’t work on my computer. I use Adobe Photoshop to make all my headers.
P.S. check your email i sent my example header!
